Biography

Decl has been a part of online communities since 1998, hanging out on different IRC networks, primarily IRCnet in his early days. In late 2002, he started playing online games competitively and ended up on QuakeNet IRC network.

Having founded an Unreal Tournament clan, Decl spent much of his time playing on ClanBase. Eventually, he got into gaming event coverage and in late 2005 he co-founded TGS Radio. From that time on, Decl got into online radio and focussed on providing play-by-play commentary for matches played on ClanBase tournaments and elsewhere.

In late 2007, TGS Radio was closed, however, shortly after, in October 2008 ClanBase opened its own radio station - ClanBase Radio. Decl joined the CBR team as technical supervisor and later took the role of General Manager. Soon he got promoted to Chief of Media on ClanBase, effectively becoming a part of ClanBase management.

From 2010, he also started hosting music shows. This is when Decl re-discovered his passion for rock music and decided to concentrate on his weekly shows instead of gaming coverage.

In the end of 2013, ClanBase was shut down and it was decided to rebrand ClanBase Radio into BAIT Radio. Decl continued to host his "Rock Explorer" show through 2018 when BAIT was shut down.

In 2021, Decl decided to re-purpose the BAIT website for the PassionateGaming community, and now continues to work on and improve the site you're browsing.
